Q: How do I actually purchase a share?
A: It's really simple. Basically you'll take the following steps...
STEP ONE: Select the aircraft that best suits your needs.
Be among the first to own and fly the DA40-180 Diamond Star, equipped with the awesome Garmin G1000 glass cockpit. Never before has this much capability been available to general aviation pilots!
Looking for a more classic flying experience? If you have an instrument rating and a minimum of 300 hours, we’re offering a fully refurbished Beechcraft Bonanza V35 at our New York location.
STEP TWO: Come out and experience these great airplanes at one of our "Display Days."
Sign up on our website and you’ll automatically be notified when we schedule a Display Day at an airport near you.
Just can't wait for an Display Day to come around? Call or email us to schedule your own informational briefing. Our team is available to explain the unique benefits of our program. And we’ll show you how easy it is to get started flying your own airplane.
STEP THREE: Guarantee your slot.
When you’re ready to make the move to a Leader Aircraft ownership share, your delivery position is locked in upon our receipt of your down payment. Your funds will be placed in an interest bearing escrow account until the aircraft sale is completed.
(Diamond is expected to start deliveries of the twin engine DA42 late this year and the D-Jet in 2006. They're currently accepting deposits for each of these landmark aircraft and so are we! You can reserve a share in either aircraft now through Leader Aircraft.)
STEP FOUR: Schedule your training.
As your aircraft’s delivery date draws closer, we’ll schedule training so that you’ll be fully qualified, comfortable and competent in your new airplane as soon as possible after it arrives.
STEP FIVE: Take delivery of your new aircraft.
We complete the new aircraft purchase and deliver your aircraft registered, inspected and insured. Immediately upon taking delivery, you'll open your eyes to new horizons and promise to make up for lost time.
Q: What is really different or special about Leader Aircraft's "Time Share Flying concept?
A: A lot! First, we're not a fractional ownership program at all. We're a unique form of ownership that offers some real advantages to pilots. One of the biggest is...
The Leader Aircraft Cost Advantage
We’ve driven the cost of ownership way down by sharing the fixed overhead costs that must be paid regardless of how often the aircraft flies.
What kind of difference can this make?
If you’re a sole owner flying 60 hours a year, you need to prorate the cost of insurance, financing, airframe and engine use, and all the other costs associated with aircraft ownership over those 60 hours. When you add everything up, each of those hours will end up costing you a small fortune. And most pilots just can’t justify those kinds of costs.
But when you only have to pay a fraction of the fixed costs yourself – literally only a fifth of what you would as a sole owner, the whole ownership equation changes for the better
Our cost structure includes allowances for maintenance, both scheduled and unscheduled. It includes insurance, Jeppesen GPS database updates, and necessities such as tie down costs at your airport. Literally everything you need to be up and flying.
The result? You get a brand new, leading edge DA40-180 Diamond Star with the incredible Garmin G1000 glass cockpit, for about the same hourly cost as one of the older, ho-hum airplanes on the used market today. Or a highly capable Bonanza, at an equally attractive price. This is tremendous value for your dollar. In fact it’s unbeatable – you will not find a better deal on these kinds of airplanes anywhere.
Most sole owners are overly optimistic about the number of hours they plan to fly annually. In reality, even five owners sharing an airplane don’t come close to utilizing it fully every day. When you stop and think about it, you’ll probably conclude that the advantages of Leader Aircraft's "Time Share Flying" plan far outweigh the high costs and risks of sole ownership.
And if you're currently stuck flying rental aircraft that you can't even schedule for an extended vacation or business trip, there's just no comparison.
So whether you’re a business person tired of airline travel or someone who just wants to fly a beautiful, well maintained flying machine, Leader Aircraft is right for you.
